How Temu's Logistics Model Actually Works
Temu runs two very different fulfillment paths, and which one applies changes your delivery time and which carrier shows up.
Cross-border fulfillment
StandardThe original Temu model: items ship from a seller's warehouse in China, move via consolidated air/sea freight, clear customs, then hand off to a domestic carrier for last-mile delivery. This is why tracking can sit quiet for days during the international leg.
Local Seller Program
Local / US FulfillmentSince late 2024, Temu has opened domestic fulfillment to local sellers in the US and a growing list of countries. Local-fulfilled orders ship from an in-country warehouse straight to a domestic carrier — no customs leg, much closer to typical marketplace shipping speed.

Temu Tracking Systems
Unlike Amazon, Temu doesn't run its own branded tracking portal (there's no Temu equivalent of Swiship). Tracking runs through three layers instead.

Temu Order Numbers vs. Tracking Numbers
Order number ≠ tracking number. Temu doesn't publish a universal tracking-number format of its own — the number you get is generated by whichever carrier is actually moving the package.

Because the tracking number comes from whichever carrier ends up with the parcel, don't assume a fixed prefix or format — always confirm the carrier shown on your Temu order page before searching a number on a carrier's site.

Temu Carrier Ecosystem
Temu has confirmed it uses "a wide selection" of national and regional carriers. These are the ones documented most consistently, with links straight to each carrier's own tracker.

Don't assume every carrier above ships to every country — coverage depends on your destination and whether the order was fulfilled cross-border or by a local seller. The carrier shown on your Temu order page is always the authoritative source.

"Who is delivering my Temu package?"
Five steps to find the exact carrier and open its tracking page directly.
Open "Your Orders" on Temu
Sign in and go to temu.com/bgt_orders.html to see every current order.
Tap "Track" on the order
Temu displays the assigned carrier name and tracking number once the package has been handed off.
Note the carrier Temu shows you
It will be one of USPS, UPS, FedEx, DHL, or a regional/national carrier — copy the exact tracking number shown.
Open that carrier's own tracking page
Use the direct links in Section 05 above rather than a generic search — official carrier sites give the most current scan history.

Temu Shipment Lifecycle (Cross-Border Path)
Where tracking visibility appears — and where it typically goes quiet — for a standard, China-fulfilled order.
Seller / Warehouse (China)
The order is picked and packed at the seller's or Temu's originating warehouse. No public tracking yet.
Export & International Line-Haul
The parcel is consolidated with others and moves by air or sea freight toward the destination country. Tracking is often silent through this stage.
Customs Clearance
The shipment clears import customs. This is the most common point for a tracking status to stall for several days.
Domestic Carrier Handoff
Customs releases the parcel to a domestic carrier — USPS, UPS, FedEx, DHL, or a regional partner. The first real scan usually appears here.
Domestic Transit
Standard carrier network movement — sortation facilities, regional hubs, local depot.
Last-Mile Delivery
"Out for Delivery" appears, followed by the final delivery scan.
Delivered
Confirmed on both the carrier's site and inside your Temu order page.
Local Seller Program orders skip Stages 1–3 entirely — the parcel starts directly at Stage 4 from an in-country warehouse, which is why local-fulfilled orders arrive noticeably faster.

Temu's Local Seller Program
Opened to all US sellers in November 2024 and since expanded to dozens of additional countries, this is Temu's answer to slow cross-border delivery.
What changed
Merchants based in the destination country can now list and fulfill orders from local or in-country 3PL warehouses instead of shipping every item from China.
Fulfillment options
Local sellers can self-fulfill or work with Temu's shipping partners, including an official ShipStation integration announced for US sellers.
Where it's available
The Local Seller Program now spans the US, Canada, UK, most of the EU, Japan, South Korea, Australia, Brazil and more — check current eligibility in Seller Center at sign-up.

Selling on Temu & Seller Center
Temu doesn't operate an "FBA"-style warehousing program the way Amazon does — sellers either ship cross-border into Temu's own network or fulfill locally themselves. The seller-facing tools live at seller.temu.com.

Exact wording varies by carrier, but most Temu tracking updates map to one of these stages.
